You're Nothing But A Strip Tease: Hinder's "All American Nightmare" Review

InReview:                           Hinder - "All American Nightmare"

Hinder’s third studio effort “All American Nightmare” begins with a hard-hitting adrenaline charged anthem titled ‘2 Sides Of Me’, which effectively  kicks the ball rolling for the rest of the album. Hinder have shown development on their heavier side on this record, which continues throughout the remainder of the album. Also included are the odd emotional ballads sprinkled in across the album, which effectively covers both sides of the spectrum. Hinder play to their strengths, with enough originality to keep this album set apart from their previous ones. By playing to their strengths Hinder have created some of the best songs of their career, including the softer ‘Red Tail Lights’ that features a memorable emotional chorus.
The heavier songs on ‘All American Nightmare’ like ‘Waking Up The Devil’ provides enough hard rock for people who don’t like ballads and creates a good sense of balance. For those out there who dislike Hinder and similar bands of this generation, this album will not change your mind, so don’t listen to it. Honestly I’m sick of critics panning Hinder on every album they release. If Hinder truly are the bottom rung of modern rock, the world still needs them in order to compare newer artists to them and explain how not being Hinder has benefited that artist musically. Personally I really love Hinder’s brand of music even if it isn’t the most original piece of modern rock going around. But their music is catchy, fun to sing along too, gets the head rocking and also features a number of pop culture references this time around. This is most evident in the song ‘Hey Ho’ which Wrinkler enjoys bagging out such popular hip-hop artists like Kanye West.  Also Joe ‘Blower’ Garvey’s guitar work and Austin Wrinkler’s vocals have vastly improved and shine through on songs like ‘The Life’ and ‘Put That Record On’, like they never had before.
Overall Hinder’s third effort ‘All American Nightmare’ is darker, heavier and catchy as all hell. New ballad’s like ‘What Ya Gonna Do’ and ‘The Life’ are sure to go mainstream and propel Hinder back into the stratosphere. This album truly is an ‘All American Nightmare’ because it’s an album that is once again going to be hated by critics, yet despite its reception will sell magnificently well.
Rating: 8/10
